Recycle Program and Environmental Clean Up
Recycling Program
Twenty-seven fourth graders participate collecting used school paper and send it to be recycled. The recycling bulletin board includes schedules, posters, facts and a collection graph. Each Friday the team visits classrooms to collect and weigh recyclable paper.
Third Grade Grounds Crew
Our theme is "Don't Trash Our Valley" which appears on posters that students have created for display in the school. Twice a week, students put on their rubber gloves and pick up litter they find on the playground, the ball field, the tennis courts and the school's front lawn.
We report to Mr. Finlaw about what we find, and weigh and track the weight of litter. This program teaches students to take care of our Earth, and also encourages teamwork and new friendships.
Students of both groups are honored for their participation during our Pride Assemblies.
